The Day Away Board

Sally Johnston

Sally is the founder and President of Day Away. She previously served as a Director - Information Technology and Project Management for a large Swiss bank. Currently, Sally devotes her fulltime effort to Day Away and is on staff with a Christian missions organization. Sally is stepping down as Executive Director of Day Away Association for Women at the end of September 2010.

Vicki Bagdasarianz

Vicki is taking over as the new Executive Director of Day Away in 2010. Vicki speaks fluent English, Italian and German. She was active in church planting in Italy and then moved to Switzerland to marry Dr. Serge Bagdasarianz (a medical doctor and pastor). She became an instant mother of 4 children. She lives in Hombrechlikon, Switzerland.

Christine Hawkes

Christine serves as president of the Day Away Association for Women and is also the Association Treasurer. She is a qualified Chartered Public Accountant and works part time for a large British food distributor (as the CFO). Christine is married and has two children. Christine also leads the First Place Ministry - which seeks a balanced approach to exercise and weight loss. She lives in Widen bei Wollerau.

Pastor Bruce Davie

Bruce is pastor of the International Baptist Church of Zurich (http://www.ibcz.ch) and serves Day Away in providing guidance, as well as contact with other churches. Bruce is married and has 3 grown children. Bruce and his wife Shirley (also active in Day Away) are from South Africa. Bruce and his wife live in Kilchberg, Zurich.

Nadia Hou

Nadia is originally from Taiwan, but came to Switzerland via the United States. She speaks fluent Chinese, German and English. Nadia works for a large Swiss Bank in the area of institutional portfolio management. Nadia attends the International Protestant Church of Zurich. Nadia is very interested in ministry to women and has a commitment to see Day Away flourish.

Heidi Hausmann

Heidi is from Chicago, but her father is Swiss and she holds dual citizenship. She works in management for a leading human resources consulting and outsourcing firm. She came to Switzerland in the mid-90’s to get to know her Swiss roots better and she speaks fluent German. Heidi offers the Day Away Association a very good sense of management principles and she has a background in serving on the Board of the International Student Fellowship in Zurich.

Dr. Joyce Hulgus

Joyce is a doctor of Psychology with years of experience - both in professional practice and as a professor of Counseling at Biola University in Los Angeles and Lancaster Bible College. Joyce has spoken many times at Day Away Seminars and loves the women and has a great desire to help and encourage women. Joyce serves as Advisor to the Day Away Board.
